James has been an activist and filmmaker since the age of 14, and has been at the forefront of the international youth environmental movement. From organising a concert featuring Olivia Rodrigo to protect threatened rainforest, to setting up a Climate Clock in Glasgow to look on leaders at COP26, he has led a variety of creative projects to bring about real-world change.
James is now keen to pass on what he has learnt from his experiences of the youth environmental movement, as well as to continue advocating for stronger action on climate and biodiversity issues to leaders in government and industry.
He is an experienced speaker, and has been invited to talk at venues including the Royal Geographical Society, QE2 Centre, WOMAD Festival and IUCN World Youth Summit. He has also given speeches in Westminster to MPs and journalists, on panels alongside UN Executive Secretaries and charity CEOs, on stage with Chris Packham and in the same lineup as Ellie Goulding. He is comfortable acting as a host, having chaired panels of filmmakers, presenters, writers and other professionals older than himself.
If you would like to book James to give a talk, please get in contact via the form on the website’s sidebar. Please be aware that James is now a full-time student and has to earn money while not studying – as such he is more likely to be able to accept a speaking commitment if it is paid, although he will still give some talks free of charge.
This can be discussed further upon enquiry.
